Anti - Snoring Device

Snoring is very common; many snore at times, usually when suffering from a cold or sleeping in a certain position. For some people, however, snoring is a constant problem, leading to disruptions in sleep and even pressure on relationships. We understand the importance of a good night's sleep and we offer treatment to help reduce snoring and restore calm at bedtime.

Self-help

Snoring can be caused by many factors and, in some cases, no clinical treatment is required. Risk factors for snoring include being overweight, smoking, drinking alcohol, sleeping on your back and allergies. If you have any of these risk factors, it may be possible to reduce snoring simply by making small changes to your lifestyle, such as losing weight, cutting down on smoking and avoiding drinking in the evenings.

Some people find that they snore when they sleep on their back and changing position, to sleeping on their side, can help.

Anti-snoring treatment

If making changes to your sleeping position or your lifestyle are not successful, you may need treatment for snoring. We offer advice and help with snoring, as well as anti-snoring devices. These work by holding the nostrils open, preventing the mouth from falling open during sleep or altering the position of the jaw during sleep to increase the space for air to flow at the back of the throat. The noise of snoring is actually made as a result of vibrations in the soft palate and other soft tissues in the mouth.

We understand that it can be embarrassing to talk about snoring, but we have experience in treating patients for snoring and it is a very common problem; it is estimated that a quarter of Britons snore. We can provide lifestyle advice and information about self-help techniques, as well as anti-snoring devices, to help you and your partner to achieve a good night's sleep.
